Hödekin Slow Marathon

On the Way to Winzenburg

As part of the Kulturbiennale Hildesheim, I am invited to arrange a 2 day Slow Marathon along the historic Rennstieg from Hildesheim to Winzenburg. The topic is ‘Von allen Sinnen’/’Off all Senses’. Along this route I am accompanied by Hödeken, a Kobold or sprite of local folklore. The name is a diminutive meaning "Little Hat", and refers to the spiky felt hat he wears.

The Kulturbiennale theme is ‘Von allen Sinnen/Of all senses’. As such I am working with local makers and shakers to have seven stops relating to the seven senses along the 42km way.

Last week I had the good fortune to test the route along with some local enthusiasts. Its always great to discover an place in the world that has not (yet) been swallowed by tourism. The full route can be found here.

The events will take place on 16/17 July and also 19/20 July.
